What started as the GABL Elite team program in 2008 has evolved over the years due to committed parents, players and coaches.  The program was then re-branded into the GABL Future brand because we believed it better explained why we created it in the first place. Since the rebrand in 2014, GABL Future continued to provide players with quality coaches and an opportunity to expand their game outside of the normal GABL basketball leagues. 

Starting on February 5th, 2025, the Great American Basketball League (GABL) and MOKAN Basketball have entered into a strategic partnership focused on developing and delivering premier youth basketball programs to Kansas City athletes. 

MOKAN has been synonymous with elite grassroots basketball both in the midwest and nationally for over a decade. Since MOKAN’s founding in 2004, over 250 players have received college scholarships while 65 have gone on to be professional athletes, including 11 NBA draft picks and 16 NBA players in total. 

The most immediate change will be MOKAN and GABL Future merging their youth programs, to be called MOKAN Future.          

MOKAN Future will host camps, clinics, coaches training and skills academy, throughout the city. Tryouts for the inaugural season of MOKAN Future will start next month and continue through March 9. Click the button below to learn more about tryouts for your chance to become a part of MOKAN Future.
